What you get

  • 152 curated articles

Every part of the journey, across 22 parts, from before you book the flight to the year you leave.

  • Search across everything

Look up a fee, a form or an authority and land on the article that covers it, rather than scrolling a contents page.

  • Checklists that remember

Checklists for the big moments, from attesting documents before you fly to closing everything down when you leave, kept ticked on whatever device you tick them.

  • Your place, kept

Reading progress is saved, so a guide you dip into over months picks up where you left it.

  • Sources you can check

The articles on visas, money, housing, work and the law name the authority behind them, GDRFA, ICP, MOHRE, DEWA or the Federal Tax Authority, and every article is dated.

  • On any device, forever

One login, no app to install, no seat limit, and nothing to renew. Buy it once and it stays yours.

Read it before you pay, not after

Each one is pulled straight from the articles inside the guide, so you’ll know exactly how it’s written before you spend anything. Read one or read them all, and if it’s not for you, you’ve lost nothing but a few minutes. No account or card needed.

Before you decide

This is not for you if…

  • You want legal, tax or immigration advice

We are not lawyers, accountants or agents. The articles on visas, money, housing, work and the law name the authority they draw from, so you can take a real question to a real professional, better briefed than you were.

  • You have already lived here for years

Most of this will be things you worked out the hard way. The parts on leaving and on wills might still earn their keep. The rest of it will not.

  • You are moving somewhere else in the Gulf

This is written for Dubai. Some of it carries across the rest of the UAE, but visas, leases and costs work differently in Riyadh, Doha or Muscat, and we do not cover them.

  • You want someone to file the paperwork for you

This explains what to file, in what order, and what it costs. It does not do it on your behalf, and it is not a relocation service. Nobody pays us to send you anywhere either, so when you do need a professional, we tell you which kind, not which company.

Payment and access FAQs

What happens straight after I pay?

You'll be asked to pick a password. That's it. We already have your email from checkout, so there's nothing else to fill in, and you go straight into the guide.

Do I need to create an account before I can buy?

No. You pay first, and your account is set up from your email straight after. You only choose a password.

Is it really one payment?

Yes. You pay $39 once and that's it. No subscription, and nothing renews. If you're ever charged twice, tell us and we'll sort it out.

Can I read it on my phone and my laptop?

Yes. Log in on any device, as many as you like, and there's no app to download. Your checklists and reading progress sync too, so something you tick off on your phone in a government office is ticked on your laptop when you get home.

Who handles the payment?

Lemon Squeezy. They process the payment, so your card details go to them and we never see them. They also work out any sales tax or VAT for your country at checkout.

The bill nobody warns you about,
and 151 other things.

A lot of it is out there somewhere, undated and in the wrong order.

You could work it out yourself. It just costs more time and money.
